Joint Declaration following the second EU - Republic of Moldova Summit
We, the leaders of the European Union and the Republic of Moldova, held our second EU-Moldova Summit in Brussels on 22 June 2026 and have concluded the following: The partnership between the EU and Moldova has continued to grow stronger, anchored in the shared values of democracy, rule of law and respect for fundamental rights, international law, multilateralism and the international order.

On August 27, 2025, Independence Day, at the invitation of President Maia Sandu, Chișinău will host the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, the Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, and the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk.
The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, had a meeting with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. The discussions focused on the support provided by the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change in boosting economic growth, attracting investment, and supporting Moldova’s accession to the European Union.
